In 2004, shortly after the Kentucky Prostate Cancer was established they held their first FREE screening at the KY State Fair.  Now, 14 years later, the coalition has screened more than 14,000 men.

  • MISSON:

Screenings will be taking place the first four days of the Ky State Fair in the South Wing B area annually.

In 2004, shortly after the Kentucky Prostate Cancer was established they held their first FREE screening at the KY State Fair.  Now, 14 years later, the coalition has screened more than 14,000 men.

To educate, increase awareness and provide free prostate screening opportunities to men in Kentucky while advocating for healthier initiatives to reduce risk factors for prostate cancer.

 

Common risk factors include: Inactivity, obesity, diet, military service in Vietnam, African American heritage and positive family history.

WDRB Reporter, Keith Keiser, joins Steve Henry and Governor Beshear to open the annual FREE Prostate Cancer Screenings at the KY State Fair. Both former LT. Governor Steve Henry and Governor Beshear are prostate cancer survivors.
